Close, but not everything.
Even though The Husband has been in the Corps for almost 4 years and I've been with him the entire time, there is still a couple of things that I can't remember/understand.
1) Uniforms: I know the nicknames, like the pickle suit, but when The Husband uses the technical name, I feel like he's speaking Greek.
2) Cutting Scores: I know how you have to have a specific cutting score to pick up LCpl, Cpl, and Sgt. I get that part. I just don't understand how they are determined. The Husband has tried to explain this to me umpteen times and I'm still left staring at him with my head tilted going "Wha...?".
In order to try to learn, I called The Husband up one day and told him to give me the technical names of the uniforms and what they consist of. Google was surprisingly less than helpful in my quest to learn, so I swallowed my pride and asked for the 4th or 5th or 6th time which was which. I have a list now which has a home on my desk. I know exactly where it is so that when The Husband talks about his uniforms, I can decode it.
The cutting scores however still remain an enigma to me, like Loch Ness, Bigfoot, and how the Marine Corps runs. I'll figure it out one day and on that day, the heavens, and The Husband, shall rejoice.
