What did I get myself into?
Grad school started last week.
Being the first week of school, every class was pretty similar. Everyone introduced themselves (which by day three with all of the same people, gets pretty old) and we went over the syllabus.
I also learned that I will start working with clients NEXT SEMESTER.
Yeah.
They're trusting me (with supervision) with real, live people.
I'm already completely overwhelmed.
It took me 6 hours to get through one chapter of a book today. It could be that it's just basic history stuff that I've gone over in every psych class I've ever taken, but I was struggling.
Hopefully once I get more into the swing of things, I won't have this pit in my stomach. It IS pretty daunting to be back in school after being out for a few years.
The funny thing is, I'm already thinking about possibly going on for my PhD. Weird.
In other news...
We're completely moved into our home. We're still trying to get all the detail work done (ceiling fans and curtains are a lot more difficult than you'd think), but the major stuff is done, with the exception of our backyard. Once it starts to cool off, the backyard is on the top of our list of things to tackle. I can't wait to have a space back there to hang out. Right now, our front porch is our favorite place in (outside?) our house, but I think once the backyard is done, that will be a close second.
Alright. Back to reading. Hopefully I can come up for air again sometime before winter break!
Good luck with your first semester!
